Freeport Mosquito Control Spraying Bay Loop and Hammock Bay Areas Tonight

Freeport Mosquito Control will be out spraying in the Bay Loop and Hammock Bay areas tonight from 7 PM until midnight, as the city continues to respond to active mosquito populations despite a recent decline in numbers.

The city announced the spray schedule on its official Facebook page, noting that while mosquito populations have reduced since recent weeks, there is still a decent presence looking for a meal. The Bay Loop and Hammock Bay areas are the focus of tonight’s operation.

Tonight’s spraying follows a series of treatments throughout July, with previous operations targeting the North Jackson Street area on July 24 and again on July 22, as well as a citywide treatment on July 10. The city’s mosquito control program operates on an as-needed basis, responding to elevated trap counts and resident feedback about mosquito activity levels in specific neighborhoods.

Residents in the Bay Loop and Hammock Bay areas are advised to keep windows closed, bring in pet food and water bowls, and stay indoors during spraying operations. The city posts spray announcements on its Facebook page ahead of each treatment. For questions or concerns, contact Freeport Mosquito Control at (850) 835-2822 ext. 212 or [email protected].
