Freeport Athletes Up for Athlete of the Week
Freeport athletes are on this week’s ballot for the Northwest Florida Daily News’ Florida Power & Light Athlete of the Week, and voting is open now through 2 p.m. Friday.
The weekly honor recognizes standout performances across high school sports in the Panhandle, and this week’s crop draws nominees from six schools: Baker, Choctaw, Freeport, Niceville, South Walton and Walton. It comes on the heels of a strong Week 2 for Freeport’s Bulldogs and their neighbors — Baker, Freeport and Walton headlined the newspaper’s Week 2 Roundup of area wins.
South Walton senior Gabe Parenton took home the honor in Week 1 voting after an impressive showing, and a new winner will join him when polls close Friday afternoon. The winner will be announced shortly after voting ends.
Supporters can cast their votes in the poll embedded in the NWF Daily News article, and fans are welcome to vote as often as they like before the 2 p.m. Friday deadline.
