Walton County Launches E-Bike Ordinance Survey

Walton County Launches E-Bike Ordinance Survey

Walton County is asking residents to weigh in on proposed changes to local e-bike regulations. The county launched an online survey to gather public input before potentially adding new rules or restrictions on electric bicycle use, citing public safety concerns.

Before taking the survey, residents are encouraged to review the draft Walton County Ordinance and proposed Senate Bill SB382, which could affect how e-bikes are regulated at the state level.

Under Florida Statute 316.003, an e-bike is defined as a bicycle or tricycle equipped with fully operable pedals, a seat or saddle, and an electric motor of less than 750 watts. E-bikes fall into three classes based on motor assistance and top speed.
