Reward Jumps to $16,000 for Tips Leading to Arrest of Freeport Murder Suspect Isabelle Johnson

The reward for information leading to the capture of Isabelle Johnson has increased to $16,000, with the U.S. Marshals Task Force adding $5,000 to the existing $11,000 already on the table through Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers and the Florida Sheriffs Association Criminal Apprehension Assistance Program.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced the increased reward on Tuesday, July 21, as the search for the 38-year-old fugitive entered its fourth week. Johnson is wanted on an open count of murder in connection with the death of Jason Christopher Coulthart, a 43-year-old Niceville man whose remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave behind a home on Sunset Lane in Freeport on June 25. The case has already led to five arrests of individuals accused of helping Johnson evade law enforcement.

The reward breakdown reflects a multi-agency effort. Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers contributes $6,000, with an additional $5,000 from the Florida Sheriffs Association Criminal Apprehension Assistance Program, bringing the Crime Stoppers total to $11,000. The U.S. Marshals Task Force separately offers $5,000 for information that assists in Johnson’s apprehension. Unlike the Crime Stoppers reward, which allows tipsters to remain anonymous, the Marshals reward requires tipsters to provide identifying information — though that information will be kept confidential.

Investigators caution that Johnson may have altered her appearance, including cutting and dyeing her hair, to avoid recognition. She is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy, and possibly “Denise.” She has ties to Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida, as well as areas in Georgia and lower Alabama. The sheriff’s office has noted that Johnson frequently persuades people to help her by fabricating stories of domestic violence or personal hardship to secure rides, money, or shelter.

Anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts is urged to contact Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 863-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online, or use the P3 Tips mobile app. Anonymous tips submitted through Crime Stoppers are eligible for the $11,000 reward. Authorities stress that Johnson should be considered dangerous and should not be approached — call 911 immediately if spotted.
