Woman Sought in Freeport Homicide Case, One in Custody
Walton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help locating a woman wanted for murder in connection with a homicide investigation in Freeport, where human remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave last week.
The investigation began Thursday, June 26, when Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau received information about the possible location of a homicide victim. A judge signed a search warrant that evening, and deputies executed it at a property off Sunrise Lane in Freeport. There, investigators uncovered human remains buried behind a home on Sunset Lane. The sheriff’s office initially withheld details to protect the integrity of the case, confirming only that all parties involved were known to each other and that the incident appeared isolated and domestic in nature.
On June 30, authorities identified two suspects in the case. Bobbi Wagstaff, 31, of Sunset Lane, has been arrested and charged with accessory to capital murder after the fact and possession of methamphetamine. She is currently in custody at the Walton County Jail.
Law enforcement is now actively searching for Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, described as a white female approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Johnson has ties to the Freeport area and to Georgia and may be using multiple identities. Known aliases include Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Trash, and Jessica Dowdy. The sheriff’s office has urged the public not to approach Johnson if spotted and to call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 892-8111 or submit anonymous tips through Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers. A cash reward may be available for tips that lead to her location and arrest. The investigation remains active, and additional details will be released as they become available.
