Walton County Commission to Meet in Freeport on August 11
The Walton County Board of County Commissioners will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Freeport BCC Board Room.
The meeting will take place at the Freeport Commons complex, 842 State Highway 20 East, the same venue that hosts Planning Commission, Design Review Board, and Zoning Board of Adjustments meetings for the county. The BCC rotates its meeting locations between DeFuniak Springs, Santa Rosa Beach, and Freeport to give residents across Walton County access to county government without having to travel long distances.
Walton County’s five-member Board of County Commissioners serves as the governing body for the county, with members elected at-large but qualifying to run in one of five districts. The board sets policy, adopts the budget, and oversees county operations. Regular meetings are open to the public and include time for citizen comments on both agenda and non-agenda items.
