Walton County Engineer Shares US 98 and CR 395 Construction Update with Additional Remarks

On August 22, 2026, Walton County Engineer Chance Powell shared an update on the construction project along US 98 and CR 395 via the Walton County Board of County Commissioners’ Facebook page, noting ongoing work through 2026.

The project, which extends off US 98 onto CR 395 North, includes a 10-foot-wide asphalt multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists. Roadway reconstruction and resurfacing are underway, along with drainage improvements to mitigate flooding risks. A timber retaining wall is being installed to support embankments, and updated signage and new crosswalks are being added to enhance safety.
