City Council Meeting Tracker
City Council Meeting Tracker
This is your hub for everything Freeport City Council — upcoming meetings, where to find official agendas and minutes, and recaps of past meetings so you don’t have to read 40 pages of minutes yourself.
Meeting Schedule
Freeport City Council meets twice a month:
- 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM
- 4th Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM
All regular meetings are held at:
Freeport City Hall — Council Chambers
112 Highway 20 West
Freeport, FL 32439
Note: Meeting times occasionally change. For example, the May 13, 2025 meeting was held at 9:00 AM instead of the usual evening slot. Always check the official agenda before heading out.
How to Attend
In Person: Just show up. Meetings are open to the public and there’s usually seating in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Public Comment: Want to speak? The council typically has a public comment period at the beginning of each meeting. Here’s how it works:
- Show up a few minutes early and sign in with the City Clerk
- When your name is called, you generally have 3 minutes to speak
- You don’t have to be a city resident — anyone can comment
- Be respectful, stick to the time limit, and state your name for the record
- The council won’t always vote on your issue right then, but your comment goes into the official minutes
Can’t Make It? You can request meeting audio or a copy of the agenda package by contacting the City Clerk. More on that below.
