Walton County Technical Review Committee to Meet July 15 at Freeport Board Room
The Walton County Technical Review Committee will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Freeport Board Room at 842 State Highway 20 East.
The Technical Review Committee, established by Ordinance 91-04 under the Walton County Land Development Code, provides the initial technical review of development projects after they are submitted to the county. Committee members examine project plans and submit their comments or concerns for discussion at the meeting. The TRC serves as a critical early checkpoint in the county’s development approval process, identifying potential issues before projects advance to the Planning Commission or Board of County Commissioners for final decisions.
The meeting is one of several county government sessions scheduled at the Freeport Board Room this month. The venue, located at Freeport Commons on State Highway 20 East, hosts a rotating schedule of county board and commission meetings, making it a key hub for residents in the eastern half of Walton County who want to participate in local government without traveling to DeFuniak Springs.
Residents, developers, and interested parties can access the meeting agenda and related documents through the Walton County CivicWeb portal. The TRC meets regularly, with sessions typically scheduled every two to three weeks. Past meetings have reviewed projects ranging from commercial developments along State Road 83 to residential subdivisions and infrastructure improvements across Walton County.
