Walton County Planning Commission Sets July 9 Meeting in Freeport
The Walton County Planning Commission will hold its next meeting on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Freeport Board Room, located at 842 State Highway 20 East in Freeport.
The Planning Commission serves as Walton County’s primary advisory body on land use and development matters. Under Chapter 163 of the Florida Statutes, the commission reviews major development applications, comprehensive plan amendments, and proposed changes to the Land Development Code, forwarding recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for final action. The panel meets at the Freeport Board Room, which also houses the county’s Planning and Development Services office at 842 State Highway 20 East, Unit 110.
The July 9 meeting continues what has been an active year for the commission. In recent months, the panel has weighed in on contentious issues including the e-bike ordinance — which was continued to July 21 after public safety concerns prompted commissioners to direct staff to hold a stakeholder workshop — and ongoing development proposals along the Highway 331 corridor.
