The Walton County Board of County Commissioners has rescheduled two regular meetings in July 2026, moving both from their original dates to later in the month.
The Regular Meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the DeFuniak Springs Boardroom, 571 U.S. Highway 90 East, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
The Regular Meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the South Walton Courthouse Annex, 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Walton County’s five-member Board of County Commissioners serves as the governing body for the county, with members elected at-large but qualifying to run in one of five districts. The board sets policy, adopts the budget, and oversees county operations. Regular meetings are open to the public and include time for citizen comments on agenda and non-agenda items.
The rescheduled meetings come during an active period for the BCC. The board recently held a public workshop on June 30 at the South Walton Annex to discuss the 2026-2030 Tourist Development Council Strategic Plan, a process that included input sessions with elected officials and community stakeholders. The county is also navigating budget season, with department heads preparing funding requests for the upcoming fiscal year.
Residents who wish to attend either meeting should check the Walton County CivicWeb portal for agendas and supporting documents, which are posted in advance of each session. Meeting schedules and updates are also available through the county website at mywaltonfl.gov.
