Human Remains Found Buried Behind Freeport Home, Suspect in Custody
Walton County Sheriff’s Office investigators discovered human remains buried behind a home on Sunset Lane in Freeport on Thursday night, and one individual is now in custody.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, investigators received information Thursday regarding the possible location of a homicide victim. A judge signed off on a search warrant shortly after, and deputies executed it at the Sunset Lane property, where they uncovered the remains buried behind the residence. The sheriff’s office says everyone involved has been identified and knew each other. One person is currently in custody. The investigation remains active, and the sheriff’s office is withholding certain details to protect its integrity.
